Our Story

Who We Are

Oviedo’s first zero-waste 100% non-profit business with a mission to reduce waste and provide meaningful employment to local people with special needs.

We're Oviedo's first zero-waste social enterprise company that is dedicated to reducing waste and creating meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with special needs. Eco-Ability is a refillery business on a mission to refill products, reuse, and most of all, re-value people of all abilities in our local community.

Founder of Eco-Ability, Rebecca Dray, is the proud owner of TheraPlay — a pediatric occupational, speech, and physical therapy establishment nestled in Oviedo, which has served the community for the last 19 years. She has a son on the Autism spectrum, fueling her commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with diverse abilities. For the past 18 years, Rebecca has been at the helm of various supported employment and social enterprise ventures in both the United Kingdom and the United States. Her unwavering passion lies in building businesses that contribute to the greater good and foster inclusivity.

We are a company with a mission to serve the community. Eco-Ability offers zero-waste products to conscious consumers who prioritize giving back, a healthy lifestyle, and sustainability. Embracing our values, we reinvest 100% of our profits into empowering individuals with special needs through supported employment.

What We Are Doing

We're an online store that has started collaborating with local businesses, extending the availability of refill products to physical locations that conveniently double as pickup points for online orders. The ultimate goal is to fundraise and open a brick-and-mortar location in Oviedo that will offer supported employment opportunities and provide zero-waste refill capabilities that includes the following:

  • Home
  • Bath & Body
  • Food
  • Pet Supplies
  • And more
  •

    Why We Are Doing It

Rebecca and her team share a powerful purpose: to improve the lives of underserved and underemployed individuals with disabilities in our community while also reducing waste. Our focus is the well-being of people and the planet. We are proud to say that we are verified as a genuine social enterprise by the Social Enterprise World Forum.

"Working with Eco-ability is like stepping into a new land of great opportunity!"  - Alex, Current Supported Employee

WE ARE DOING THIS FOR OUR COMMUNITY AND OUR PLANET.

    Did you know?
85% of people with disabilities are unemployed
Individuals with disabilities live in poverty at twice the rate of those without a disability

While, 1,000,000 plastic bottles are bought per minute - with only 23% getting recycled properly in the USA. A total of 800 billion pounds of plastic waste is created every year.
